Christmas Around the World

We researched different countries and how they celebrate Christmas. We learned the languages that people from these countries speak. We also learned about the weather at Christmas and what they eat and how they decorate their homes. We shared our projects with our class and then Mrs. Blanchette's 1-2 class.







We researched the country of Jordan. It is in the northern hemisphere. They speak Levantine. They farm wheat, barley, tomatoes, egg plants, grapes and tobacco. by Jordan and Andrew
I learned that Italy has volcanoes. I learned that Italy's average temperature is 5 degrees celcius in December. I learned that Italy is making their Christmas trees more popular. by Teagan

Holly and I researched the country of Japan. In Japan there are 1279 mountains. They call Santa Claus, Hotei Oshi. Many people don't decorate their homes because it is a Christian celebration. Japan is part of the continent of Asia. by Martine

We researched the country of Poland. It is in the northern hemisphere in the continent of Europe. We learned how Polish people say Santa Claus; Swiety Mikolai. by Carl and Liam

Noah and I researched the country of Mexico. Santa is Spanish is Nino. When we presented to the class we had to use expression. We learned that Mexico is 7 degrees celcius in December. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere. This country has the largest spanish-speaking population. by Robert




 We learned about the land. In Australia cattle, sheep and ranches are on the land. In Australia there are many languages like French, Russian, German, Italian, Japanese and English. by Autumn

We researched the country of Brazil. They speak a bit of Spanish but their main language is Portugese. They have homemade presebres and nice red, green flowers. The temperature at Christmas is very hot and humid. by Joyce & Aylie




In Germany there is snow and rain in December. The temperature ranges from -5 to 10 degrees celcius. They eat spice cake, cookies and potato salad. They learn Latin or Russian. Germany is on the continent of Europe. by Elaina and Desiree











We researched the country of China. It is summer at Christmastime. We learned that they eat chicken for their Christmas dinner and they speak Mandarin. by Stephan and Ethan
