Orange Shirt Day

Today Mr. Mason came to our school and read us a story about a girl who attended a residential school. Mr. Mason also attended a residential school when he was 8 years old. On Monday we'll wear orange to recognize that "Every Child Matters".

School Escape!

Last week the teams completed several tasks to unlock 5 puzzle pieces. During the tasks we learned the importance of taking care of our school supplies. At the end each team was challenged with designing and building the tallest tower.

The Right to Vote

On Wednesday we had a visitor from Elections MB come to our classroom to run a workshop. We learned some of the history of the vote such as from 1960 on every person in Manitoba has the right to vote. We also learned that if you don’t want to vote for any of the candidates you have the right to write declined on your ballot. After that we had a mock election in our classroom. The candidates Carter, Jonathan and Tyson worked with their teams to come up with ideas to form their platforms. They were tasked with proposing how they would spend an « imaginary » $10000 to better the classroom. Some of the ideas were more fun seating, pizza parties, more IPads as well as a class pet. It was a fun and engaging experience for everyone!

Count on

We were brushing up on our counting skills using a variety of collections. What’s the best way to count a collection of objects? We are looking for old keys to add to a new collection!

Learning new math games is a lot of fun!

Team Building and Getting to Know You
