Student Vote Manitoba 2023

"MANITOBA STUDENTS ELECT NDP GOVERNMENT IN
PROVINCE-WIDE VOTE"

According to studentvote.ca, more than 32 000 elementary and high school students participated in Student Vote Manitoba, coinciding with the 2023 provincial election.

After learning about government and democracy, researching the parties and platforms, and debating the future of the province, the students cast their ballots for the official candidates running in their school’s electoral division.

Spirit Week is coming!

Next week is spirit week!

A Maze in Corn

The grade 3-4 classes went on a field trip to A Maze in Corn. We looked for dinosaur clues in the maze, went on a horse and wagon ride, visited the petting zoo, cooked s'mores, played on the hay bale pyramid and did some team building games. We had a great day!

Terry Fox Run

The Marathon of Hope

Terry Fox was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 18. In the hospital he met many children who were also sick. He decided that more money was needed for cancer research. He set a goal to run through 10 provinces and raise 1 dollar for every Canadian. He ran close to 42 kilometres a day from Newfoundland to Thunder Bay Ontario. He ran through rain, snow and heat. Terry was unable to run across Canada but he did raise $24 million dollars, 1 dollar for every Canadian. Terry's Marathon of Hope continues to this day with over $800 million raised to date.

We ran around the Stampede Grounds for Terry Fox, our friends, our families and our neighbours. Generous families raised over $1545 this year! Well done!
