This Week at School... by Taylor

T.w.a.s
This week at school we are working on  readers theater. Readers theater is when you have a fairytale book and there is a play at the book witch we have to play the play at the back. My table group is doing the beauty and the beast. I am beauty aka belle. Jonathan is the narrator/ merchant. Kyrah is the 2 mean sisters. And Garland is the beast. We have only rehearsed once and then we got to like the 2nd last page then we had to stop. Next week we will be doing more rehearsing. On thursday or friday next week we might be showing our plays to the whole class!

Seeds in the foods we eat

We looked at different foods that have seeds in them. The fruit’s job is to make seeds. The seed’s job is to grow a new plant of the same kind. Then we got to taste test. 😊

Garland’s TWAS

Date: April 5

Dear: Mom
This week at school we looked at seeds. There were marigold, radish, bean, tomato, pea, basi,l petunia, sunflower. I wonder if the small ones will grow big and the big ones will grow small? They were different shapes and sizes. We builded a suspension bridge. My group holded 120 grams. We did a bridge research. My bridge is the millau de viaduc. It was the 3rd tallest bridge in the world. In mathI did dividing by twelves. At music we played recorder we had books and played the notes. At gym we did aerobic exercise. We played mission impossible we did a lot of running I throw balls at my classmates!

This week students were challenged to build a suspension bridge that can span a bucket and hold at least 10 grams. All the bridges were successful. Students then worked at strengthening their designs to hold heavier loads.
