🏗 Towers and Bridges Challenge!

This week, our class became engineers! We’ve been learning all about building strong and stable structures. Our challenge was to design towers and bridges that met special criteria—like standing tall without falling, or holding weight without bending. We worked in teams, tested our designs, and made improvements to make them stronger.

It was tricky, but we discovered that planning, teamwork, and problem-solving help build the best structures. By the end, we had some amazing creations—and a classroom full of proud engineers!

⛸ Gliding Into Winter Fun

This winter, we laced up our skates and hit the ice! Week by week, we practiced and improved our skating skills—learning to glide smoothly, turn, stop, and even skate backwards.

It was a season full of fresh air, rosy cheeks, and lots of laughter. We’re proud of how much we’ve grown as skaters! ❄️

🪶 Stories and Bannock with Cookem Daisy

We had a very special visitor at our school—Cookem Daisy! She taught us about the history of bannock and how it has been shared for generations. We listened as she told stories about her life growing up and shared her experiences as a First Nations woman.

Her stories helped us learn more about Indigenous traditions, history, and culture. We are grateful for the time she spent with us and the wisdom she shared. Thank you, Cookem Daisy! ❤️

A Taste of Italy with Sophie! 🇮🇹

Sophie gave a fantastic presentation all about Italy! She told us interesting facts about the country, its famous landmarks, and the delicious food it's known for.
To make her presentation extra special, Sophie brought in pizza to share with the class — just like the kind you’d find in Italy! Everyone loved it and agreed it was a yummy way to learn.
We had so much fun discovering Italy through Sophie’s presentation. Great job, Sophie — and grazie for the pizza! 🍕✈️🇮🇹

Exploring Bolivia with Christian! 🇧🇴

Christian gave an awesome presentation all about Bolivia, the country where he's from! He even told us about his recent visit there and all the amazing things he saw and did.

Christian brought in Bolivian money called bolivianos for us to look at. The colors, pictures, and designs were really cool — so different from our own!

He also shared a special type of biscuit from Bolivia. It was fun to try something new and tasty that people eat there!

We loved learning about Bolivia through Christian's stories, snacks, and souvenirs. Great job, Christian — and thanks for the treat! 🎒🍪🌎

Discovering Mexico with Simon

🇲🇽

Simon gave a super fun presentation all about Mexico! He shared lots of cool facts and even brought some special items to show us.

Simon showed us real Mexican money called pesos. The colorful bills and shiny coins looked so different from our money! Everyone loved seeing the designs and pictures on them.

But the best part? Snacks! Simon brought in a couple of tasty Mexican treats for us to try. Yum! It was a delicious way to learn more about the culture.

🇫🇷 Carter’s Cool France Project 🥐

Carter did his school project on France, and it was a big hit! He even brought in croissants for everyone to try—yum!

Here are some fun things Carter taught the class about France:

📍 Where is France?
France is a country in Europe with a population of about 68 million people. It’s famous for its food, fashion, art, and beautiful cities.

🗼 The Eiffel Tower
Carter shared fun facts about the Eiffel Tower, which is one of the most famous landmarks in the world! It’s in Paris, the capital of France, and stands over 1,000 feet tall.

🍴 Food
French food is loved all over the world. Carter told us about:

• Croissants – Flaky, buttery bread (he brought some for us!)

• Crêpes – Thin pancakes you can fill with sweet or savory stuff

⚽ National Sport
France’s national sport is football (soccer). The French team won the World Cup in 1998 and 2018!

🦓 National Animal
Carter learned that the Gallic Rooster is a symbol of France. You can find it on sports jerseys and even old coins!

🗣 Language
People in France speak French. Carter learned how to say “hello” – it’s Bonjour!

Carter had so much fun learning about France. He said his favorite part was tasting the croissants and learning French words.
